Hello, my name is Michael Tsirklin. I started at New West Charter High School in 2024 and this is my 16th year as a math teacher. I'm the Trig/Pre-calculus teacher. I’m originally from NY, I attended the University at Albany (BA math) and Lehman College (MSEd math education).

Before joining New West, I taught high school and middle school math in South Los Angeles. I was the math specialist at the elementary and middle school. As the math specialist, I worked with small groups of students on enrichment or remediation. I also worked with new math teachers to help them become accustomed to the curriculum. Previously, I taught high school math in NY: I taught at Columbus High School (Bronx) and Campus High School (New Rochelle).

I look forward to putting all my years of experience and training to work for the students of New West Charter. I hope to inspire the next generation of mathematicians and problem solvers.

“It's better to solve one problem five ways, than five problems one way.” ~ George Polya
