Malani Harrell is a California native dancer who obtained her degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts from California State University Long Beach.

Coming up, Malani has trained underneath Debbie Allen Dance company for the majority of her adolescence. Training consisted of all styles from Modern, Ballet, Hip-Hop, and Tap. From there she took her training to her primary studio Continuous Motion Dance Academy. She attended many conventions and intensives, including JUMP, Radix, and MAIN events.

In her college years, she was especially active. She trained under Danzel Thompson-Stout standing as her mentor. She has performed in numerous productions including “S P A C E” and the MFA performance piece choreographed by Danzel Thompson-Stout. In addition, she performed two student-led works by choreographer Tori Cone titled “HAPA” and “Pockets”. She participated in a week-long residency with Kameron Saunders, performing a piece in the upcoming fall.

Malani has also tapped into her choreographic/creative director role as she has choreographed and staged performances for many younger artists such as JD McCrary, Isabella Dubois, and Miyla Mitchelle. She has been awarded with her certificate in African-Modern Technique Umfundalai.
