Ana Plasencia
8th Grade History
Well, hello there! My name is Ana Plasencia and I am the 8th-grade social studies teacher. This is my second year at New West and I am glad to continue to be a part of this incredible community.
I began my educational journey at Santa Monica College which allowed me to transfer to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (Go Mustangs!). I spent six years in San Luis Obispo earning my Bachelors and Masters in History as well as my Single Subject Teaching Credential in Social Studies. During my time at Cal Poly, I studied abroad in Spain while taking an intensive Spanish language course. I look forward to a time when I am able to plan trips to new and exciting places.
I am elated to share my deep love of history with this year’s 8th-grade class. It is my hope that students will walk away from my class at the end of the year with the skills they need to become a successful high school student.
When I’m not at school, you can find me running, reading a good book, hanging out with my cat, or relaxing with family and friends.
