David Lee
7th Grade Math
David Lee is grateful to be a part of the New West community, serving as the 7th grade Math Teacher at the Pico campus. Mr. Lee joined the New West team this school year.
Mr. Lee grew up in the South Bay and attended Johns Hopkins University, earning a BA in English and Biology. He earned a Master’s of Divinity from Claremont School of Theology and was ordained in the Korean Methodist Church in 2008. After serving in parish ministry for 17 years, Mr. Lee began his teaching career. He earned his teaching credential at Cal State Fullerton and has served as a middle and high school math teacher in the South Bay for five years.
Mr. Lee is dedicated to teaching math in an equitable classroom that embodies the New West ethos of inclusivity. He is passionate about building class communities that encompass and nurture every student identity. His goal is to equip students with math knowledge that will enable them to succeed in school and beyond.
