Taylor Cameron-Provencio
12th Grade English
Hello and welcome to my bio page! Originally from Austin, Texas, I bring a decade of teaching experience to my role as the 12th Grade English and Journalism teacher at New West. I hold a double major in English and Sociology from Texas State University and a Master’s in Education from Alder Graduate School of Education. Before joining New West, I spent eight years in San Francisco teaching at KIPP Public Schools, where I developed my passion for fostering critical thinking, academic rigor, and student voice.
This is my second year at New West—and yes, I moved up with this exceptional cohort to teach them in their senior year. I have also served as the 12th grade lead and currently advise both the Model UN and Female Empowerment clubs.
My teaching philosophy is shaped by the professors who inspired me to think deeply, write with purpose, and remain endlessly curious—values I aim to instill in my students every day.
