I was born and raised in Carson located in the South Bay area of Los Angeles. I went to King Drew Medical Magnet High School (pursuing to be a surgeon) and then furthered my education to the University of California, Riverside. I graduated in 2007 with a B.A in Psychology and Dance. During the five year journey, I found myself devoting more time and energy to dance than anything else such as being captain of the dance team, teaching at a dance studio three days a week, being a recipient of the Gluck Arts Foundation Scholarship for four years, and then finally deciding in making it my major.
After graduating, I worked with Champions an outdoor adventure, and after school company for almost two years. During that time, I was introduced to New West as their P.E and after school director. Fortunately, New West decided to hire me as a staff member. I started the dance program in 2009 that has increased in popularity over the years. I am now the P.E/Dance director of New West.
Outside of school, I teach in Riverside at Dancers studio since 2004. I’ve been dancing for about 24 years and was a member of a professional tap company, “Rhapsody in Taps” from 2008-2013. This is my twelfth year at New West Charter and I am more excited than ever to continue to expand the dance program.
