Mentor Teacher
I am excited to continue teaching English on the NWC+ team. I am from the New York City suburbs, and you can often find me with a guitar or pair of drum sticks in hand. After receiving my B.A. in Music Production from Indiana University, I worked in the entertainment industry for a few years, and I wound up doing a lot of writing within the field: journalism, copywriting, copyediting, and ghostwriting. Later, I received my M.A. in English Education from Teachers College at Columbia University.
As an English teacher, I use a multimodal approach; I always bring diverse literature, music, film, and other media into the classroom. In class, we discuss and deeply analyze the application of various stories within the larger picture of our world. It's important to me to foster a sense of community and authenticity in our group discussions to create a safe space for students to be expressive through meaningful rhetoric and discourse.
