Sally O'Neill
MS Music Director
Sally O’Neill is a native New Yorker who studied Music Education and completed both her B.M. from the Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam, and M.A. from Teachers College, Columbia University. She moved to the west coast where she has taught for 10 years, 7 of those, at New West.
Primarily a flute/piccolo player, Sally has performed extensively with many ensembles including the Brooklyn Wind Symphony, Santa Monica Wind Ensemble, Pasadena Community Orchestra, and the World Wind Orchestra Project in Schladming, Austria. She recorded at Remote Control Studies for TV shows like Katy Keene and the SpongeBob video game. Sally performed in a piccolo masterclass series with members of the MET Opera Orchestra..
In the classroom, Sally looks to instill a passion for performing, listening, and enjoying music in every student. Through dedication and hard work, her students will learn a new skill and language while making friends and having fun. Sally is very excited for the 2025-2026 school year. Be sure to hear her students in one of the concerts this year!
When Sally is not teaching or practicing, you can find her enjoying a live concert, on a yoga mat, or playing with her cats Poppy and Rocco-the Poprocks!
