Mackynze O’Leary
Resource Teacher
Mackynze O’Leary is one of the Resource Teachers for 11th and 12th grades at New West Charter High School.
Originally from Los Angeles, she graduated from Santa Monica High School then attended the University of Oregon and the University of Hawaii. Finishing with a degree in Environmental Science, she helped launch a community college department called Plant Bioscience Technology. This program focused on agriculture and horticulture using problem-based learning techniques online and in the classroom.
Moving back to Los Angeles, Mackynze started her single-subject fundamental science credential at Cal State University Los Angeles. During this time, she taught home-school students math, science, and organized after-school programs. She is currently obtaining her Master's Degree in Special Education.
