Hello. My name is Kinh Quoc P. Huynh, but my friends and family call me Moky (hockey with an “M”). I am earnestly thrilled to be teaching at New West Charter School amongst a diverse and vivacious community. I was born in Vietnam, but I immigrated to the United States when I was 6-months-old. Growing up in Kirkland, a beach town east of Seattle, Washington, I enjoyed a memorable childhood, profuse in rain, sunshine, and delectable cuisines. Soon after high school, I moved to Los Angeles, where I earned my undergraduate degree in Communications and my Masters degree in Teaching, both from USC, a.k.a. the University of Southern California, home of the Trojans.

With regard to my philosophy, my personal aim is to invigorate and impassion the heartening youth, inciting their hearts and minds to engage in the resistance against passivity. In other words, by virtue of technology, e.g., addictive smartphones, it is easy to forget every now and then just how chaotic and destructive our precarious world is. Alas, our global society is chronically plagued by class inequality, racial prejudice, and cultural malice in relation to a philistine environment. Thereby, those of us who have access to the resources must employ our talents and cognitive skill sets to ameliorate the standard of living for those who are downtrodden and aggrieved. Hence, the impetus behind my pursuit of soulful teaching. Irrespective of my achievements, I have a great deal to prove to myself, which sparks the fire within me to help another being (e.g., inquisitive students) comprehend the invaluable meaning of life through the lens of English Language Arts.
