Greetings, New West community! I am Chris Newell and I'll be teaching Latin and Mythology this year. I've been at New West since the 2012-13 school year.
I've lived in Southern California since I was 2 years old. I went to Long Beach State where I studied Classics and received my teaching credential. I moved to LA almost a decade ago to begin teaching.
As I worked my way through college, I realized I liked best to learn new things and to share and learn from others. The ancient world is a fascinating topic, full of unknowns, even to experts, so I am happy to have the opportunity to teach about it at such a great place.
In his free time, you might find Mr. Newell building a screen door, flying a quadcopter, or being rescued by lifeguards after capsizing a kayak.
