Hola! My name is Casandra Campeas and I am the High School Spanish one teacher. I’m so happy to be in my second year at New West. This will be my second year teaching and my fifth year in education. I grew up in Northridge, CA, and studied Art and Photography at Pitzer College. I love how art can be a powerful tool for eliciting and inspiring language learning. After working in photography for many years, I had a strong desire to pursue a career in education. This inspired me to earn a Fulbright scholarship to Madrid, Spain and work as an English Language Assistant and Model UN teacher in 2015-16.
When I’m not lesson planning, I enjoy hiking, watching Spanish rom coms, taking pictures, and traveling as much as possible! Though online learning has been an adjustment for everyone, I have absolute faith that it will be another great year at New West. I look forward to meeting and getting to know my new students.
