I have been in education for the past 6 years and teaching Spanish for 4 years. Before deciding to pursue a career in Spanish teaching, I majored in Studio Art with an emphasis in Photography at Pitzer College. After working in photography for many years, I had a strong desire to pursue a career in education. This inspired me to earn a Fulbright scholarship to Madrid, Spain and work as an English Language Assistant and Model UN teacher in 2015-16. I then earned my Teaching Credential in World Language from Cal State University Northridge.
Art, language, photography, and travel are huge passions of mine. I love how art can be a powerful tool for eliciting and inspiring language learning. In that regard, I do all that I can to integrate artistic projects and creativity into teaching Spanish. I am thrilled and honored to be starting my third year at New West Charter High School! The educational environment and culture at New West has challenged me, supported me, and inspired me daily to be the best teacher and individual I can be. I look forward to seeing what this next year brings!
