¡Hola a todos!
I was born in Cuba and I have been in education for 6 years. I graduated from University of Havana Cuba in Literature and graduated from California State University Long Beach with my Master of Education, Dual Language Development major (2018). I taugh in La Havana, Cuba for one year at the University of Havana. After graduating in California I moved to Houston TX in 2018 and I taught in a Charter School for almost 3 years where I received my Teaching Credential. As part of my professional development during my Master program, I have participated in Seminars and Conferences in Mexico and Spain about Bilingual Education. I love the Curriculum and Instructional practices area of the Education field; with that being said, last year I was the Spanish III curriculum coordinator for my last district.
In my (little) free time, I enjoy hiking, traveling with my family, taking my daughter to arts classes, and trying new foods.
I am thrilled to be part of the New West team. My main goal this year is to make Spanish II very practical for students with daily life escenarios in order for them to have the skills needed to use the language in different situations.
